traditional folk master w/ his two hot bands
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $18.50

Singer, songwriter, guitarist, mandolinist, and longtime stalwart of the Bay Area music scene, Gerry Tenney brings his two hot bands for an eclectic evening of great music! Intriguing new combinations of musicians and instruments and a rare chance to hear Gerry's americana and klezmer music make this a show to catch.

Klezmer music had its origins as the party and dance music of Yiddish-speaking Jews of Eastern Europe; combining ancient synagogue modes with Greek, Romanian, Russian, and other music helped create its unique sound. One of the west coasts's leading klezmer bands, California Klezmer has helped keep this music alive and propel it into the new century, rocking the house with rollicking dance tunes and heartfelt Yiddish songs.

Situated somewhere between the worlds of bluegrass and americana, The Lost Tribe has been playing a great blend of familiar gems and Gerry's originals for almost 25 years. Come on down and hear some old favorites as well as many new ones that have been creating a buzz in the bluegrass/acoustic music scene.

Joining Gerry onstage tonight are Rick Elmore (trombone), Peter Jaques (clarinet), David Laub (bass), Neil Linden (banjo), Tom Lucas (fiddle), Jim Rebhan (accordion and percussion), Betty Albert Schreck (vocals), Mayne Smith (dobro), and Leslie Tenney (vocals), Harry Yaglijian (mandolin), and Noah Tenney (vocals), as well as some surprise guests!
