fresh radical folk
Amanda West opens
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | WE ARE SOLD OUT OF ADVANCE TICKETS FOR THIS SHOW

Always a healing, life-affirming experience, an evening with the all-woman "radical folk" trio known as Rebecca Riots brims with distinctive vocals, powerful lyrics, soaring three-part harmonies, and the warmest, most engaging, stage presence you're likely to find anywhere, thanks to the talents of members Eve Decker, Lisa Zeiler, and Andrea Pritchett.

The trio performs inspiring originals that blend an intense dedication to social justice with an irresistible, welcoming attitude. Tonight Eve, Andrea, and Lisa perform plenty of brand new tunes, as well as favorites from CDs like Gardener and Just As Sure, in a show dealing with issues as far-ranging as gay-straight alliance, prisoner's rights, positive body image for women, gratitude toward nature, and, of course, good old celebratory love songs.

Founded in Berkeley in 1993, Rebecca Riots spent nearly a decade regaling the folk music world with their catchy, thoughtful, up-tempo songs before taking a break for several years to pursue other aspects of their lives (a baby, public-school teaching, visits to Palestine, meditation retreats, and a solo CD were all involved). Now that they've returned, the intervening experiences have made their music all the richer: we can't wait to hear more of that upbeat, energized Rebecca Riots sound!

Singer-songwriter Amanda West opens.
