Frank Wakefield's mandolin playing and unique vocals have graced many a top-notch bluegrass band, from Jimmy Martin & the Sunny Mountain Boys to Ralph Stanley & the Clinch Mountain Boys and Frank's own Good Ole Boys, and his long partnership with Red Allen in the Kentuckians gave the world some of the best-loved classic sounds from the early days of bluegrass. Add to this Frank's flare for showmanship, his idiosyncratic sense of humor, and his hilarious yarn-spinning, and you get one truly memorable evening!

Honored by the International Bluegrass Music Association as a Living Legend, Frank is backed by a band of stalwart players featuring some of the same folks with whom he collaborated on his most recent CD, Ownself Blues. In performance, Frank and his band generally cover a wide range of music, from bluegrass to classical, and include many of Frank's own incredibly beautiful tunes, spiced with plenty of fine bluegrass harmonies and hot innovative picking.
