bluegrass & old-time
Door 7:00 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $15.50

Who is Dr. K and why is he grinning? Find out tonight by joining us for a fabulous evening of bluegrass and old time music with three Bay Area bands—Mighty Crows, Blue & Lonesome, and Homespun Rowdy—at the wheel!

The Mighty Crows' style and repertoire evokes the seminal bluegrass acts of the 1940s and '50s. The band includes the powerful trio singing of Chris Smith (guitar), Jeff Zieba (banjo), and Mark Wardenburg (fiddle) plus Ken Torke (mandolin) and Dave Walker (bass).

A traditional band of virtuosos veterans, Blue & Lonesome features Ed Neff (the Vern Williams band, High Country), Mike Wilhoyte (Roanoke), Larry Cohea (Bluegrass Intentions, High Country), Paul Shelasky (Good Ol' Persons, Tony Rice, Frank Wakefield), and Jeff King (Round Oak, the Rhythm Rasslers).

San Francisco band Homespun Rowdy presents hard-driving, straight-ahead bluegrass influenced by greats like Del McCoury, Dan Paisley/Bob Paisley & the Southern Grass, and Bluegrass Cardinals. The five-piece band features Richard Wagner on guitar, Dave Zimmerman on mandolin, bassist Ryan Carter, Dave Walker on banjo, and fiddler Alisa Rose.
