Alice Gerrard, The Tallboys, Eric & Suzy Thompson
Door 7:00 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $15.50

Simply put, Alice Gerrard is a talent of legendary status. In a career spanning some 40 years, she has known, learned from, and performed with many of the old-time and bluegrass greats and has in turn earned worldwide respect for her own important contributions to the music. The Durham, North Carolina resident, best known for her groundbreaking collaboration with Appalachian singer Hazel Dickens, currently tours with Tom Sauber and Brad Leftwich, and performs with the Herald Angels and the Harmony Sisters. In 1987, Alice founded the nationally renowned music periodical Old-Time Herald, and served as editor-in-chief until 2003.

Since joining forces in Seattle in 2003, the Tallboys—Joe Fulton (fiddle), Charlie Beck (clawhammer and three-finger style banjo), John Hurd (bass), and Charmaine Slaven (simultaneous guitar and clogging)—stay true to their traditional inspirations while charging up their sound with a raw edge of gritty enthusiasm.

Eric & Suzy Thompson's dizzying repertoire spans the gamut of old time music, from a high-octane fiddle and mandolin duets to 1920s guitar blues to the accordion music of Cajun Louisiana.
