legendary investigative journalist/satirist celebrates release of his new book
Roy Zimmerman opens
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $18.50

Investigative satirist, Paul Krassner has had his fair share of both supporters and detractors. Radio personality, Don Imus, labels him "one of the comic geniuses of the 20th century," and according to The New York Times, "he is an expert at ferreting out hypocrisy and absurdism from the more solemn crannies of American culture." On the other hand, two apparently underwhelmed FBI agents who attended one of Paul's shows stated in their report that "he purported to be humorous about government policies." Perhaps it could be taken as a compliment that his file continues with "To classify Krassner as a social rebel is far too cute. He's a nut, a raving, unconfined nut."

This clearly dangerous fellow, who founded, edited, and published The Realist magazine, is a frequent guest on late night television, and regularly writes articles for magazines such as Rolling Stone, Spin, Playboy, Penthouse, New York, National Lampoon, the Village Voice, Utne Reader, Mother Jones, the Nation, and High Times. His book credits include The Winner of the Slow Bicycle Race: The Satirical Writings of Paul Krassner, and he's also made numerous recordings, including Irony Lives! (Artemis).

Paul's friend, Roy Zimmerman, previews his solo Freight show at the end of the month, with a short set of his topical, satirist songs.
