This LA-based quintet takes the stage for their debut Freight performance, dishing up a mighty tasty evening of country flavored folk-rock. The group of singer-songwriters meld folk, rock, and pop influences in a manner that is heavily influenced by famed Laurel Canyon artists of the 1970's like the Eagles and Crosby, Stills & Nash. Gorgeous four-part harmonies and hummable hooks abound as the group trades songs across the stage, spotlighting numbers from their new self-titled CD.
Stonehoney's members include Shawn Davis, Phil Hurley, Scotty Lund, David Phenicie, and Nick Randolph. They describe themselves as "just a group of songwriters that enjoy playing and singing together," but they're clearly being modest: between them, they've performed with everyone from Lucinda Williams and Dwight Yoakam to Lisa Loeb and Fountains of Wayne. Check them out!
