Tim Eriksen
Sunday, April 26, 2009
one of American roots' most intense and original voices
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $18.50

Specializing in stark, emotionally charged vocals that underscore the depth and power of the songs, Tim Eriksen performs a hypnotic combination of ancient New England murder ballads, hair-raising shape-note harmonies, old-time Appalachian favorites, and originals from CD projects including his recent solo effort, Every Sound Below (Appleseed).

Tim first came to attention on the American music scene as a member of the Massachusetts folk-punk band Cordelia's Dad and for his extensive contributions to the Oscar-winning film Cold Mountain. Critics have hailed Tim as "the best traditional American ballad singer of his generation" and for having "one of the most hair-raising voices in American music." Tonight, Tim performs solo, accompanying himself on fiddle, banjo, guitar and bajo sexto bass.
