your favorite songs of the 60's folk era
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $18.50

The Folk Collection, a harmonious trio based in Southern California, performs a choice selection of the songs made famous by the Kingston Trio, the Limeliters, Peter Paul & Mary, John Denver, and other great folk artists. From "Blowin' in the Wind" and "This Land is Your Land" to "Four Strong Winds," the group aims to please with a nostalgic, entertaining singalong.

Tony Unger, Ed Labowitz, and Mike Sirota, along with bass man Bob Packham, grew up in the 1960s, when they fell in love with the story songs and three-part harmonies of that acoustic era. Ed and Tony, who have been a duo on and off since their days at Hollywood High School, have this to say of their group: "The turnouts at our shows confirm that there are many baby boomers, as well as older and younger folks, who really like listening to words and harmonies—and joining in when the mood and song fit. We get a real kick out of watching teenagers, who reluctantly come to our show as a favor to a parent or grandparent, leave smiling and humming tunes we sang."
