classical, fingerstyle, and flatpicking guitar innovators
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $18.50

Continuing the Freight's ongoing Guitar Summit series, tonight's show brings together three Northern California guitarists from widely divergent points on the performance spectrum for an evening of solo sets and collaborations.

Fingerstylist Teja Gerken weaves together elements of folk, jazz, classical, and world music into a fiery, seamless style that is uniquely his own. His Postcards CD was included in KFOG radio's "Best of 2005" list.

With roots in folk, bluegrass, and jazz, flatpicking ace Scott Nygaard has been called "a phenomenally talented stylist" by Downbeat magazine, and he frequently collaborates with many of the biggest names in acoustic music, including Freight regulars Kleptograss and Darol Anger's Republic of Strings.

Award-winning classical guitarist Mesut Özgen is a tireless advocate of new music for the guitar. A spectacular performer, he combines avant-garde techniques with traditional tunes and rhythms in a repertoire that spans compositions from the Renaissance to the contemporary.
