19th annual Mother's Day celebration
Door 12:30 P.M., Music 1:00 P.M. | $7.50 kids, $9.50 adults

Kathy Kallick's 19th annual Mother's Day concert promises big fun for all! This show always puts songs in hearts and smiles on faces, with a flower for every mother and a grand finale extravaganza where Kathy invites all the kids on stage to dance and sing along.

The performance spotlights Kathy's wonderful original songs for children and families, including "Use a Napkin (Not Your Mom)," the title track from an album that USA Today praised for its "lively, humorous, thoughtful, historical, merry music." In addition to some chestnuts from traditional music, another show-stopping original, "Garbage Man," is from her album, "What Do You Dream About?" Both CDs are recipients of Parents Choice awards.

Accompanying Kathy today are two members of Rustler's Moon, the red-hot band she leads with banjo ace Bill Evans: Bill and Tom Bekeny (mandolin, vocals). They are joined by Bay Area stalwarts Suzy Thompson (fiddle, vocals) and Steve Pottier (acoustic bass).

Kathy Kallick's Mother's Day galas have become multi-generational celebrations, with some moms and grandmoms returning long after their kids have grown (and some of those kids coming back as well). The event is appropriately festive, and the music is accessible and amusing, provocative and powerful, dazzling and delightful.
