"the William Faulkner of songwriting in our time"
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $18.50

Acclaimed Texas songsmith Eric Taylor arrives tonight with his dark, earthy original folk-blues in a show spotlighting his new CD, The Great Divide (Blue Ruby). A lyrical genius and a master of the guitar, Eric is known for the powerful marriage of wordplay and melody in his intense, whittled-down reflections on the human condition.

A two-time winner of the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk competition and Newport Folk Festival headliner, Eric came out of the 1970s hotbed of Houston-based artists that included Townes Van Zandt, Lyle Lovett, Steve Earle, and Nanci Griffith. Many of these musicians were deeply influenced by Eric's masterful songwriting and unique guitar picking style: his songs have been recorded by Lyle Lovett ("Memphis Midnight/Memphis Morning") and Nanci Griffith ("Deadwood," "Storms," and "Dollar Matinee"), and he regularly performs with both of these artists as well as with Guy Clark and Robert Earl Keen. Nanci herself calls him "the William Faulkner of songwriting in our time."

Don't miss the chance to see this remarkable artist in performance.
