Formerly known as the Donner Mountain Bluegrass Band, Bay Area-based Lost Coast combines youthful exuberance and a passion for tradition. Their precise, dynamic arrangements of fierce bluegrass instrumentals and powerful vocal harmonies have been captivating audiences at festivals throughout the western United States.
San Francisco band Homespun Rowdy presents hard-driving, straight-ahead bluegrass influenced by greats like Del McCoury, Dan Paisley/Bob Paisley & the Southern Grass, and Bluegrass Cardinals. The five-piece band features Richard Wagner on guitar, Dave Zimmerman on mandolin, bassist Ryan Carter, Dave Walker on banjo, and fiddler Alisa Rose.
Her heritage in the eastern Tennessee hills shines through the original songs of Diana Jones, which draw on rich cross-currents of country, country blues, and mountain music. Diana's evocative, dusky voice, and memorable lyrics blending resonant imagery and deep emotions helped here win last year's prestigious Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Contest as well as gaining the number one spot for her debut CD in the Chicago Tribune list of best country music albums for 2006.
